Despite the previous "no powers" rule on The CW's 'Arrow,' this season will see the Scarlet Speedster race onto the show. Grant Gustin (Glee, 90210) will portray the police scientist Barry Allen on episodes eight and nine, then return on episode twenty for the backdoor pilot of the new tv series.
Here is the official synopsis for the Flash character:
Barry Allen is described as a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.
This announcement comes after revealing new villians that will added to the show this season - Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau), Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White), Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), League of Assassins member Al-Owal (Navid Negahban) and DC character Sin (Bex Taylor Klaus).
Also, former guest stars Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) will become series regulars.
“Arrow” Season 2 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
