The Mayfair Collection is one of the largest retail projects on the northwest side in Wauwatosa is set to open on April 3rd, the anticipated opening to include some of the largest national retailers such as Nordstrom Rack, OshKosh B’Gosh, Saks Fifth Avenue, Carters, and Old Navy. That's only the first phase of the project. The second phase to open at a latter time on Burleigh Street and Hwy 45 should include the large natural food giant Whole Foods Market.
The new contemporary retail shopping center adaptive reuse of the former obsolete warehouse made the first phase of the project with a scope of over 275,00 square foot of new retail space to be occupied, and the second phase could break ground early this year.
The discounted price Nordstrom Rack part of the Seattle based upscale retailer Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Dick’s Sporting Goods should open their first stores in the Milwaukee area at the Mayfair Collection. The project is at the final stages before opening, and some retailers’ merchandise is already on display. Construction crews are working behind plastic sheathing protecting them from the cold weather trying to complete the work before the opening date in April.
The total cost of the project was estimated at a budget of over $45 million that includes the second phase with plans for a possible Hotel, Restaurants, and other tenants such as Old Navy, Torrid, and Men’s Wearhouse. The Mayfair Collection is one of the largest retail projects in the Milwaukee area that broke ground in April 2013, and the estimated opening date is April 3, 2014.
HAS, a commercial Real Estate developer of Chicago is responsible for the revitalization project of the approximate 250,000 square foot former Roundy’s, Kohl’s, and warehouse space into a retail space shopping center, adding about 33,000 square feet of additional retail stores.
