The first day of spring is celebrated today. Warmer weather is on its way. The spring vernal Equinox 2010 begins Saturday and celebrates the first day of spring. Twice a year a equinox occurs when the tilt of the Earth’s axis moves toward or away from the sun. At an equinox, the sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere. The points of intersection are called equinoctial points the vernal (spring) or the autumnal (fall) point, according to Wikipedia.
The spring vernal Equinox 2010 occurs on March 20 at 1732; spring will officially begin at that time. This doesn’t automatically mean that some areas won’t still have snow, because snow can occur until May or June in some areas of the US. But it does mean that warmer weather is around the corner, and with the warmer weather comes spring storms, bright flowers, and dogs that want to go for long walks.
The 'net buzz on the first day of spring it hot because it is the first day of spring.
