The first Firefly started in 2012 in the Woodlands, Dover, DE and featured Jack White, The Killers, and The Black Keys as headliners. Firefly Music Festival is the brainchild of Red Frog Events production company based in Chicago. They have partnered with Dover Motorsports, Inc./Doverdowns International Speedway and benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital matching all donations up to $10,000. Donations from Firefly fans will go towards Red Frog Events' $25 million commitment to the St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center opening in 2015 on St. Jude's campus in Memphis.

The sophomore year saw the Firefly Music Festival double in size with 71 acts on four main stages. The 2013 headliners featured Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Foster the People and Vampire Weekend. They also had a sold out festival with over 65,000 attendees.

This year the festival has expanded to encompass 4 full days of music, over 100 artists on seven stages, along with expanding the festival acreage and on-site camping set among lush wooded landscapes. This years Firefly is looking impressive.

Festival goers will start streaming in to the festival grounds at the Woodlands & Doverdowns National Speedway in Dover, DE and occupying the surrounding hotels by Thursday, June 19th. Adding the 4th day also expanded the band lineup which is pretty incredible.

So far the headliners for the 4 day event include the Foo Fighters, Outkast and Jack Johnson along with Imagine Dragons, Beck, The Lumineers, Arctic Monkeys, Pretty Lights, Weezer, Band of Horses, Young the Giant, Childish Gambino, Tagan and Sara, Girl Talk, Cage the Elephant, Portugal, the Man, Grouplove, Local Natives, Ziggy Marley, Iron and Wine, Sleigh Bells, Amos Lee, Jake Bugg, Third Eye Blind, Twenty-One Pilots and more than 80 additional acts.

4 day passes are on sale now. Check out the official website for all the details on artists, tickets, on-site camping, hotel accommodations and more! Over the next couple of months I'll be sharing more about the Firefly Music Festival and artists. Stay tuned! Better yet...get your tickets and campsite now!
