On Friday December 6 at The Haven in Orlando is the final showdown of the 2013 Evermore Battle of the Bands. Presented by Orlandobands.com and Evermore Sound, this event has featured several battles that started with the first show back on September 10.
This final battle features live performances from Orlando bands Brothers Of Alien Rock, Kept Quiet and Liquid Spiral, Central Florida bands Dedbolt and General Eyes and Miami band Raine. “It feels great to be in the last round of this event, mainly because of the immense talent and dedication we have seen through this entire process to get here,” said the members of Brothers of Alien Rock. “It gives us hope that there is a brand new level of scene on the way to shape Orlando not only in rock, but punk, metal, country, singer/songwriter, pop and beyond.”
“It is definitely very exciting,” said the members of Kept Quiet. “We are such a new band. This final battle is only going to be our sixth fully plugged in show. It has been amazing the amount of support we have received from our friends and fans. They have made this happen for us and we are so grateful. Regardless of how this battle turns out we feel that we have already won in our own way. We won in the amount of support we have felt and the connections we have made with the other local artists involved in the battle.”
“It is an amazing honor to be in the final six of this wonderful competition,” said the members of Liquid Spiral. “With all of the great competition that is surrounding us, we feel that it has inspired us to be the best that we can be! No matter what the results, we will be always grateful for the opportunity of having made it this far.
The $10,000 top prize from this show includes full production of four songs with producer Luke Beaulac at Evermore Sound, a full production video by Left Digital Media and Goin Balistic, a set of dual drive monitors by InEarz Audio, a road case on wheels from Classic Cases, a consultation prize by Orlandobands.com and a selection of Rejuven-Ink products.
The bands are judged on several categories including musicianship, songwriting, originality, crowd reaction, stage presence and professionalism, as well as promotion and networking. The Orlando Local Music Examiner asked three of the bands if they were planning anything special for the final competition. “We definitely are bringing a special approach to this next show,” said Brothers of Alien Rock. “On each round we have brought different elements, whether it be different songs, including our take on songs like Rick Springfield and Bruno Mars or our stage show, projectors, banners, space suits/masks, it’s always sure to be a unique experience for our fans.”
“We are actually,” said April Marie of Kept Quiet. “I don’t want to give anything away, but our KQ army (as you have called our awesome fans!) may be looking a little bit colorful this battle! We have also upped our stage show and will be debuting a brand new song.”
“We are working on something new,” said Liquid Spiral. “We have always contemplated the idea of having a second guitarist in the band and we finally found the right person for the job! Can’t wait to show how much stronger and more mature our sound is having another great musician contributing to our unique style of rock!”
The Evermore Battle of the Bands is at The Haven, 6700 Aloma Ave. in Winter Park/Orlando. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. with the first band.
