The fifth Salkind International Piano Duo Festival begins next week

This coming Thursday will mark the beginning of the fifth Milton & Peggy Salkind International Piano Duo Festival. This biannual event was formed to preserve the art form of piano duo performances and is sponsored by the San Francisco International Music Festival (sfmf). The theme for this year’s festival is A Baltic Voyage; and the programming will highlight music of the countries that border the Baltic Sea: Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. With the exception of the Grand Finale Concert, which will take place in the theater at the Palace of Fine Arts, all events will take place at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, including a Concert Series in the Concert Hall and a Salon Series in the Osher Salon.
