High school football Friday nights are back. Tropical Park hosted the Ferguson Falcons against the Palmetto Panthers at 7:30 P.M. Friday night. Players were excited to start the season off and a large crowd cheered on the Falcons. The Panthers had a smaller audience. In the end cheers wouldn’t help the Falcons with a win. In the season opener the Falcons started off strong and it looked like it would be an easy and decisive win. However, in the third quarter the Panthers came back and as the players were in disbelief their rivals caught up with the score. With a few minutes left they took the lead and secured a win. The final score was; Palmetto 28 and Ferguson 20.
Ferguson's next game will be Sept. 6 at home vs. Miami Beach. The rest of the season’s games will all be played at Tropical Park. Tropical Park charges an entrance fee of $5.00. There is plenty of parking and food service. The venue is well lit with plenty of security.
