There’s a little piece of Hollywood in Downtown Long Beach with the Federal Bar located at the former Security Pacific National Bank building on Pine Avenue. This was also the home of The Madison Steakhouse for over 10 years, but recently closed in December of 2012.
The Federal Bar has become a big hit for the people of Long Beach. The lively music and the dark décor make the perfect blend of fun and relaxing- and helps create a cozy ambience. There’s also a huge menu of food and drinks.
Let’s start with their Brunch menu. Items range from the classic French Toast ($11) to their Red Velvet Waffles ($11). The French Toast plate is served with house made syrup, fresh berries and nuts. And their Red Velvet Waffles plate is served with a peach jam, bacon, and eggs.
For dinner time lovers like me- they have a vast menu ranging from pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and main entrée dishes like salmon and rib eye steaks. These items are available daily after 5pm.
If you’re at the Federal Bar any day of the week between 4-7pm their delicious appetizer menu items are $2 off. I definitely recommend the Michelada Mussels ($11) and the Short Ribs Poutine ($11).
I think the Federal Bar will become one of my favorite spots in Long Beach.
