Author John Green has confirmed that cameras have officially started rolling today (August 26th) on the movie adaptation of his best-selling novel, The Fault in Our Stars.

"I can’t believe this is happening, but cameras just started rolling," Green wrote on his official Facebook page, where he posted photos of his chair and his trailer on set. "I want you to know that everyone—and there are like a hundred people here—is working very hard to make this a great movie."

The Fault in Our Stars is the heartbreaking story of a young romance between two teenage cancer patients, played in the movie by Shailene Woodley (who recently cut her hair for the part) and Ansel Elgort.

The movie is tentatively set for release in late 2014, possibly 2015, and also stars Laura Dern and Sam Trammell.

Green is on set this week as filming gets underway. He previously confirmed he will have a cameo in the movie, though he has not specified what the cameo will entail.
