Magic Market Week has wrapped in Las Vegas on Feb. 20. The annual clothing trade show is an opportunity for retailers to order clothing, shoes and accessories for fall. As buyers whip through the racks of major brands at a breakneck pace, emerging brands man their booths waiting to be discovered. From jewelry to outerwear, the MAGIC show may be a new brand’s entrance into a new market or a major retailer. Inside the showroom of the POOL Trade show, small Etsy type designers have their wares available for preview as well as cash and carry. The Magic Market Week show spans showrooms at both the Mandalay Bay and Las Vegas Convention Centers and is one of two annual shows, held in spring and fall.

Fall trends seen on the floor include white with black accents, denim on denim and combinations of mixed patterns and textures. In women’s shoes, designers have blinged out everything from sandals to boots. Rain boots in every color and design were also on display, maybe in expectation of more epic wet weather to come. Betsey Johnson makes her comeback with a new collection of shoes in David’s Bridal locations and with a new line of rock n’ roll boots and life inspired handbags.

Interesting finds at the show include the Girly Go Garter, a lace garter that holds your phone, ID, credit cards and lipstick so you don’t have to carry a purse on your night out and the HipS-sister, a band of fabric resembling the band on yoga pants with pockets to store your phone, keys and money. The HipS-sister has a zipper for easy wear and it is available in dozens of designs for wear with any outfit. From the POOL trade show comes the Tipsy Elves. Be ready for next year’s ugly Christmas sweater party with custom designs made just for the occasion. The Magic trade show will return to Las Vegas next fall.
