The Fantastic Wes Anderson

Fantastic Mr. Fox opens today in limited release. The film is directed by the whimsical Wes Anderson and is voiced by George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, and Jason Schwartzman. The film is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's 1970 children's book. I for one am very excited to see Anderson's first attempt at animation as I am a huge fan of his filmography. In fact with his latest movie coming out I thought it was a great time to look back and rate his earlier work.

1) The Royal Tennenbaums: Easily his most polished work, an extraordinary ensemble cast highlighted by the great Gene Hackman.

2) Rushmore: Jason Schwartzman's breakout role as Max Fischer, a 10th grader at the elite Rushmore Academy.

3) Bottle Rocket: Not only Anderson's first movie, but also the debut of Owen and Luke Wilson. If you have not seen it, rent!

4) The Darjeeling Limited: Three brothers riding a train across India in a hope to find themselves and bond together. Perfectly odd.

5) The Life Aquatic: Bill Murray stars as Steve Zissou, an oceanographer hunting down an elusive jaguar shark. This one line description is funny enough!
