The Family Winemakers of California Tasting will return to San Diego on Saturday, March 9 - Sunday, March 10, for its annual Southern California tasting at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The event is open to the public on March 9 (and open only for registered trade members on March 10.) Tickets are $40.
The event will feature 170 wineries, all members of Family Winemakers of California, and will showcase over 700 wines from California's small-production, family-owned wineries. In addition to providing guests with an opportunity to sample the ever-increasing range of wine varietals and blends that California's wineries are producing, the event also offers guests a chance to meet winery representatives and spend time learning of each winery's unique story.
Those who have attended the event in previous years may remember a second Southern California tasting, held in Pasadena. The San Diego tasting will be the only Southern California tasting this year, and guests from Los Angeles and Orange County are encouraged to make the journey to San Diego to attend this one-of-a-kind tasting. Amtrak offers transportation from LAX to the Solana Beach station, less than two miles from the Del Mar Fairgrounds, with fares ranging from $30-$45.
