Many of us working on our family history and genealogy research have accepted the challenge to pledge a daily word count on a family history writing project of our choice. It really is not too late to get involved, if you had not taken the challenge earlier. Lynn Palermo has provided daily motivational emails that have indeed been inspirational… also see these writing. I've mentioned some of these in my own updates, here.
A number of rationales have been provided to make a pledge. We were each urged to choose our out own project and to determine the number of words per day we wanted to write. I chose 250 words a day on my non-fiction project: "The World of Sergeant Major William Kinnick: Revolutionary War Soldier." I've done a lot of the research and some writing, but have continued to 'put it on the back burner.' For me, this was a great opportunity to take the month of February to get some positive word done on this project. Do you have a project like this?
Frankly, I would encourage you, if you said "Yes" to that last question, to go ahead and sign up, even now, to participate in the last couple of weeks of this month. You will be surprised how much you can actually get done, just from the persistence that you will apply. Best wishes!
