This weekend the San Diego County Fair opened, and the theme is the 50th anniversary of the British Invasion of the Beatles. The Fab Fair Exhibit boasts two displays of photography showing behind the scenes and backstage shots with the Fab Four. There is also a riveting exhibit of John and Yoko's 'Bed-In' for peace, which lasted 8 days and was documented by LIFE photographer Gerry Deiter.
Be sure to check out other great exhibits, including the AgriFair, with a petting zoo for kids and a goat milking demonstration, the Home and Hobby exhibit, with some fantastic displays of quilts, table settings, and wedding cakes. Also Family Funville (formerly called the Infield) has a new attraction - the World of Wonders Amazement Show, with 12 live acts that create a historic American experience with an updated twist.
The Fab Fair has a great line up of artists with the Toyota Summer Concert Series. Don't miss Zandaya, Smokey Robinson, Huey Lewis and the News, and REO Speedwagon, among many others. And of course, be sure to bring your appetite for some crazy concoctions, such as the Triple Decker Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger, Deep Fried Chicken Skins, and Bacon-Wrapped Churros.
The San Diego County Fab Fair runs now through July 4 and you will be sure to have a fab time!
