One thing that can definitively be stated about the first couple of 'Expendables' flicks is that they don't hold a lot of mystery. It's pretty obvious these movies are about bad one-liners, big guns, big muscles, big explosions, and probably big egos (just ask Bruce Willis!) with so many action movie legends in one place. But The Expendables 3 does have one gigantic question mark surrounding it, and that's whether the film will be affected by the recent online leak of the entire movie. The same thing happened with The Expendables and it still did pretty well, but it does throw a potential monkey wrench in Sylvester Stallone's plans to end the trilogy on top.
It's perhaps more crucial than ever now for the marketing push to get ramped up a few gears, and that's exactly what the latest trailer does. Stallone and his version of the Dirty Dozen are back with a few "new" faces like Wesley Snipes (who really wants a Blade 4), Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz, and Ronda Rousey. This is more of what you'd expect but in the midst of stuff getting blowed up there are a few gems, like Rousey kicking butt in a sexy dress and Ford having an "Oops" moment. This should be a lot of un.
Also starring Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Expendables 3 opens August 15th.
SYNOPSIS: In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
