There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Bengal, Savannah, Egyptian Mau and Ocicat are very striking and exotic felines with a touch of the wild to further add to their mystic.
The orb of exotic felines is indeed exhilarating and enlightening, yet it is quite confusing too. Each of these breeds has several levels within the breed. Two stand out as very sought after and admired: The Bengal and the Savannah.
The Bengal is an extremely favored exotic house cat. They are as exceedingly rare as they are dramatic in appearance... These are a cross between a domestic house cat and the Asian Leopard. This beautiful breed has been in existence for well over two decades now. If you decide on a Bengal, remember that the quality of these cats will vary considerably, therefore everything depends on what you are looking for and the amount of money that you are going to be willing to pay.
When it comes to the size of these cats, most females weigh around ten pounds, males twelve. Their personality is good-natured, bright, and demonstrative.
The Savannah is a cross between an African Serval and a domestic cat, and they are amazingly uncommon. Most Savannah felines cost from $1,000 to $6,000. They are tall, leggy cats with a solid spot over a basecoat color that ranges from warm golden orange hues to cool silver. They are elegant and dazzling cats to behold and are most assuredly a cat to highly consider if you are seeking an exotic house cat.
The Egyptian Mau is a naturally spotted breed, spots on the tops of the hair of their coats. They are said to descended from African wild cats. They often land on their back feet when taking a leap, sort of kangaroo-like. With their longer hind legs and unique flap of skin extending from the flank to the back knee, providing for greater agility and length of stride, The Egyptian Mau is the fastest of the domestic cats. Their speed has been clocked at over 30 miles per hour.
The Ocicat has no wildcat in their DNA; but appears that way. This beautiful cat looks very much like an ocelot with beautiful spots; but has the temperament of a domestic cat. This breed was established from Siamese and Abyssinian stock and later on silver tabbies.were added to the mix, giving the breed their silver color, bone structure and distinct markings.
These exotic breeds will no doubt attract the attention of many and will be a true delightful addition to your home.
