Bethesda Software released a new trailer Tuesday for The Evil Within from survival horror mastermind Shinji Mikami just in time for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC title to be shown at the Tokyo Game Show this week.
Here is the official description of the trailer for The Evil Within.
Shinji Mikami, the father of survival horror, is back to direct The Evil Within -- a game embodying the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story weave together to create an immersive world that will bring players to the height of tension. The Evil Within is in development for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC and is slated for release in 2014.
The Evil Within is the first title by Mikami's Tango Gameworks which was founded in 2010 following his departure from Capcom and was then later acquired by Bethesda Softworks parent company Zenimax Media. The game uses the same id Tech 5 engine that powered Rage and as well as the upcoming Wolfenstein: The New Order and long-in-development Doom 4.
The game was previously in work under the "Project Zwei" codename before being officially announced this past April. It is said to be a return to the roots Mikami established during his creation of the Resident Evil franchise.
