Publisher Bethesda announced the delay of developer Tango Gameworks’ upcoming survival horror The Evil Within, which is now slated for release on October 21 in North America, October 23 in Australia and October 24 in Europe, according to a press release obtained by Examiner this morning.
To soften the blow of today’s news, the publisher revealed the game’s pre-order bonus, as well. Titled The Fighting Chance Pack, players will receive a variety of in-game items, including a medical kit, green gel (used to upgrade the protagonist), a double barrel shotgun with three shells, an incendiary agony bolt for damaging enemies with fire sparks and a poison agony bolt, which you should be able to guess its usefulness.
The Evil Within, by Shinji Mikami, the mind behind the Resident Evil franchise, follows the story of Detective Sebastian Castellanos, who finds himself in a deranged world filled with deadly creatures, where he must uncover the mystery behind the powerful force that killed his fellow officers.
“Shinji Mikami and his team at Tango Gameworks have asked for additional time to further balance and refine the game in order to deliver the polished, terrifying pure survival horror experience they set out to create,” Bethesda wrote in the press release.
The Evil Within will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
