The Evil Within is quickly approaching its Oct. 14 release date and with that comes more and more information about the highly anticipated survival horror game. Tango Gameworks is the developer behind this title and has been working on it for several years now.
Today, Bethesda Softworks has formally announced the cast that will help bring The Evil Within's characters to life. They are actors Jackie Earle Haley, who starred in Lincoln, Watchmen, among others, Jennifer Carpenter, who starred in the TV show Dexter and the film Quarantine, and last but not least, Anson Mount, who has starred in Hell on Wheels and Safe.
The Evil Within is being lead by world-renowned game developer Shinji Mikami. The game is looking to embody what the survival horror genre is to many gamers around the world. Mikami spoke about what helps make a great survival horror game.
"One of the most crucial elements to any successful survival horror game is the setting and sound, which includes the depth and authenticity of the voice acting.
"We brought together a great cast of experienced actors to help ensure that players really believe our characters’ emotions and the tension they feel in every scene," Mikami said.
The Evil Within is the last scheduled release for Bethesda Softworks in 2014, unless The Elder Scrolls Online launches on new-gen consoles before then. The Evil Within will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC when it launches on Oct. 14.
