'The Evil Dead' is becoming a TV series

"Evil Dead" fans be excited because today, July 28, Rolling Stones reported that it's going to become a TV series. This is huge news that has been buzzing around the internet.

The original movie's director Sam Raimi, his brother Ivan, and Bruce Campbell are said to be going to be writing the series. Campbell also confirmed to a fan on Twitter, that it's the plan that he stars in the new show. That just adds more excitement to fans.

Sam Raimi made this announcement about the TV series at the San Diego Comic-Con, where he was also discussing the movie adaptation of the video game, "The Last of Us."

The film "The Evil Dead," was released in 1981, and the film spawned two sequels, "The Evil Dead II," and "Army of Darkness." All three starred Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams. Since then the films created a large cult following. People enjoy the mix of gore and slapstick comedy together.

In 2013, "The Evil Dead," was remade by director Fede Alvarez. Campbell did a cameo for "Evil Dead" and he also produced it with the original director, Sam Raimi. The movie was pretty well received by fans and critics alike.

Raimi is no newcomer to working for TV either, he produced episodes for many successful and cult TV shows like:
