‘The Everyday Tales of a Cat God’ coming to North America this June

Anime and video game publisher NIS America today announced that it would be releasing the slice-of-life fantasy comedy series, “The Everyday Tales of a Cat God” in North America this June.

The Everyday Tales of a Cat God” is based on the “Nekogami Yaoyorozu” manga by FLIPFLOPs and was adapted into an anime by AIC+ (Tenchi Muyo!). The series is directed by Hiroaki Sakurai (Cromartie High School) and features series composition by Touko Machida (Tears to Tiara) with the voices of Haruka Tomatsu as Mayu, Yui Horie as Yuzu Komiya, Ai Kayano as Sasana Shousouin, Ayana Taketatsu as Meiko and Yuko Sanpei as Gonta.

The 12-episode (plus one OVA) series follows the daily life adventures of Mayu, a cat god that was cast down to Earth due to her troublemaking ways. Mayu is eventually taken in by Yuzu, a kind antiques shop owner who quickly learns that god or not, Mayu has an astounding level of laziness with no desire to change as well as a talent for getting into trouble.

Anime fans can look for “The Everyday Tales of a Cat God” in NIS America’s premium edition packaging beginning on June 4, 2013 for $64.99. The premium edition will include the Japanese with English subtitles complete series, along with the OVA episode and 7 mini-episodes on two Blu-ray discs as well as a hardcover art book packaged in a collectable slipcase.
