Revelation 21:1-7 (NLT)
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
People spend the majority of their lifetime trying to improve upon their existence on the earth. Those who grow up in poverty either choose to continue in the generation of lack or pursue prosperity with strict determination to leave the past behind. Privileged children tend to take for granted the struggles of life and fail miserable if their level of comfort is compromised. Middle class people strive to maintain the life they have always known never reaching too high or falling to low just maintaining mediocrity. The cycle of life birth and death wrapped around a birth announcement and death certificate failing to ever look beyond the true parameters of life into Eternity that awaits. God gave us hints. All creation testifies of His Power and Greatness. In each human heart, He placed Eternity so that we would know and look for more than we can comprehend with our natural senses. The Lord longs to make a spiritual and relational connection with all of His Precious People. But most of them are too busy to make a better life in this world rather than looking ahead to what is coming! There is a new heaven and earth approaching. The days are specifically numbered by God when that day will arrive. It is called the New Jerusalem not built by a single human hand but solely constructed by Divine Inspiration and the souls of those who have chosen to be His People. The Righteousness offered by God through Jesus Christ has allowed Him to be reunited with His Beloved. This will be a glorious reunion. The end of sin as it is banished along with death and every enemy of God to the pit of hell forever. Jesus said, “I am making everything new!” “It is finished!” There is no sorrow, crying or pain in this moment but pure joy and jubilation for those who surrendered this life to the One who sits on the throne waiting for the end of the world as we know it!
Matthew 24:3-12 (NLT)
Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.
You are here. Me, too. Not only are there wars and rumors of war, but nation against nation. Check. There are famines as world hunger increases including in such prospering nations as America where the homeless rate rises every day and government subsidized programs buckle under the burden of more and more people become reliant on them for provision. Check. Earthquakes are occurring regularly around the world. Check. BUT all of this is the first birth pains of what is to come. Let’s not stop there. You (Christians) will be arrested, persecuted and killed as well as hated all over the world because you are His Followers. Yes, check this off the list, too. Even the United States of American founded on the principle “In God We Trust” is pushing Him out of schools and government. Check. Sin will be rampant everywhere (even the House of God) and the love of may will grow cold. Check this off the list as well. Welcome to the end times but remember this is not the end of the world. There is no need to panic. You must simply pick a side. Will you live for this world that is dying? Or will you give up this life to live for Jesus Christ and enter the New Jerusalem when it comes? I am not a prophet. I am not an apostle. I do not preach from a pulpit on Sunday. I am a Christian who has decided that it is not the end of this world but that I must choose to live for the coming Kingdom to escape this world’s demise and have eternal life.
Matthew 13:48-50 (NLT)
When the net was full, they dragged it up onto the shore, sat down, and sorted the good fish into crates, but threw the bad ones away. That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the righteous, throwing the wicked into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The end of the world will be simple and final. It will be complete in a moment without any hesitation. Grace will be over and mercy run out. The end of life as we know it. This should not bring fear or trepidation to the heart of anyone who is a Follower of Jesus Christ. But one must be completely sure of the side they have chosen and lived for all the years spend on this earth. Did you choose life or death? Was your decision for blessing or cursing from God? Did you accept His Covering of Grace, daily supply of Mercy and live for the Kingdom that is to come? When the end of the world comes, the wars will be over. The media will go silent. There will be no choices to be made just somber silence as we witness the judgment of God. Those who love Him and serve the Lord will be powerless in reaching loved ones, friends and even enemies that did not receive the Good News on this earth? But must only watch as they are cast into hell with the father of all lies and enemy of our soul…forever to pay the price of sin forever. (Matthew 13:37-42) In a world of compromise and gray areas, it is important to evaluate our own life with this image in our mind. It will change the way that you think and live as a believer when the stark realization and vivid images of such a thing comes to our mind. We live in a world of skewed justice and messed up morals. The gray area and middle of the road have erased the clear line between good and evil but when Jesus returns there will be just two sides. You will not have an opportunity to plead your case any longer. There will be rebuttal or argument and not time for an appeal. With swift certainty, there will be a separation of believer and nonbeliever based on our life and the contents of one’s heart. Will you be ready when the end of the world comes?
Ecclesiastes 2:18-26 (NLT)
I came to hate all my hard work here on earth, for I must leave to others everything I have earned. And who can tell whether my successors will be wise or foolish? Yet they will control everything I have gained by my skill and hard work under the sun. How meaningless! So I gave up in despair, questioning the value of all my hard work in this world. Some people work wisely with knowledge and skill, then must leave the fruit of their efforts to someone who hasn’t worked for it. This, too, is meaningless, a great tragedy. So what do people get in this life for all their hard work and anxiety? Their days of labor are filled with pain and grief; even at night their minds cannot rest. It is all meaningless. So I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfaction in work. Then I realized that these pleasures are from the hand of God. For who can eat or enjoy anything apart from him? God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him. This, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
I used to think that Solomon was the most melancholy whiner of them all. Seriously, life is meaningless over and over through his text. Then I was reminded that all scripture is divine inspiration breathed by the Holy Spirit into mankind making it important. Life is meaningless absent of God’s Wisdom, Knowledge and Joy! We work so hard to make money, buy things, go places, and do what makes us happy looking for immediate gratification and “making the best out of life.” We are reminded repeatedly that life is short and not just in the Word of God. People live by the motto “YOLO” or you only live once. The reality is that you do not live just once. It is appointed to man to die then comes judgment. Natural death is only an exit from this earth into Eternity once there our fate is determined by our faith. Without faith in God, hope is dead once we live this earth because there is nothing else for us but more death. We worry about food, clothing and shelter to survive on the earth. This is meaningless if we have not surrendered our life to Jesus Christ. These are the end times… not the end of the world. This is all the time we have to develop faith and turn it into confident hope yet we spend the majority of our time trying to make it from our birth to death successfully. Forget that! As a people, we must focus on making it from death to Eternal Life! Now is the time to act on our belief and cultivate seeds of faith that will produce confident hope that when the New Jerusalem comes that there will be a place for us. This is a meaningful life. It will satisfy your soul causing it to prosper. As your soul prospers, you will find contentment, joy and peace even as the whole earth becomes chaotic at the pending arrival of Christ. The demons are trembling. Hearts are breaking. The earth seems to be coming apart at the seams because of the close proximity of God. Do not stockpile food. Do not turn all your cash into gold. Do not try to build a bunker under the earth. This is a total waste of time. God is your Provider. He is your Prosperity. He is your Protector. Build your life on a firm foundation of faith and your future will be secure in His Plan which includes a future and hope for those who choose to be Followers of Christ.
Mark 8:34-37 (NLT)
Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Do you consider yourself to be a Follower of Jesus Christ today? If not, I have Good News. Jesus loves you. He died to set you free from the death sentence of sin. He has picked you to be His Bride and wants to introduce you to His Father. You know Him, God created you in your mother’s womb. He loved you before anyone knew you and plans to spend forever with you. All you need is faith to step out of the rat race and follow Jesus. If you are a believer already, where are you now? What is the distance between you and the Lord? Are you comfortable knowing that He is with you ALWAYS? Do you the things you do, say, and see invite His Presence or cause Him to turn away? You have a short life to let that small measure of faith you have been given grow into confident hope that will keep you rooted and grounded in His Love past this life into Eternity. You have to bank your life on this. You cannot diversify your life. You are all in or all out. Have you counted the cost? Have you decided to give up your selfish ways or do you use grace as a means to have your way expecting God’s Results? Time is running out. When time ends, game over. There are no additional lives. You have one. What will you do with it? This is not the time to turn back. (Luke 7:21-23) Is Christ’s Love in control of your life? (2 Corinthians 5:14-16) Your fruit is evident in your attitude and actions. You cannot have fear and faith at the same time. Worry and stress reveals doubt in our heart and must be firmly dealt with. Have you set your sights on the reality of Heaven? (Colossians 3:1-3) Each day praying not my will be done, but Father your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. You have the power to bring the Reality of His Kingdom into the earth in which we live. Are you doing it? You have the keys and it is definitely time to use them. No weapon formed against you can prosper in such a position. Living in the Presence of God will created that blessed assurance that we are after as our faith blossoms into a strong root of confident hope that will anchor our soul to Jesus. (Hebrews 10:19-23; Hebrews 6:18-19) Get a grip! We are in the end times but it is not the end of the world. The end of the world is coming but it can be the end of life as you know it. Step into the Powerful Presence of God and live there! The end of the world is a day of rejoicing for the believer when Eternal Life is issued to every person who called on the Name of the Lord, became a true Follower of Jesus Christ and chose to live what they believe giving up this life for so much more!
I Peter 4:6-10 (NLT)
That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit. The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
Titus 3:1-7 (NLT)
Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good. They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone. Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”
