Feeling the pull of the Mother Earth Drum, we once again join Michael Bayard and his excellent group of artisans and musicians as they quicken our heartbeat and harmonize our body, joining the tempo and throb of life-affirming Celtic mysteries and the natural forces of Druid magic.
You are invited to immerse yourselves in the stirring rhythms and healing music of the Enchanted Forest. Although we begin in the deeply quiet woods near Stonehenge, we will not be left there. Instead, we will be transported through time and space to new world stone grottos to experience the haunting melodies of voice and flute - pushing through the wonders of soundscape and panorama to a clearing within the Enchanted Forest - to pause a moment in awe.
Where mystery and magic converge, there is a secret place to which you can travel only this one evening. "...just on the edge of the clearing, just before we step into the meadow and into the light, the mystery calls us to ...be vulnerable, to step through" into what we might not yet understand, but it will become clear to us in time. Come prepared to experience a wild and powerful transformation that will not fade from your senses or your memory. Throughout this journey, master percussionist and critically-acclaimed composer Michael Bayard teases your anticipation with solo and grouped rhythms that find a home within the center of your soul.
Once again Christ Unity Church is robed in the splendor of another age and culture as we are drawn into the pull of Ron Kowalka's Mother Earth Drum and Erin Krasovich's Didgeridoo. While we are mesmerized by the visual impressions created by the design team of Mary Rupp, Dale Bannister, Steve Walker and Misha Parker, the hypnotic vocals of Ann Sabra Roach take us deeper yet until, Daleela Morad's Tree Spirit Goddess brings us to another time, another place. Mark Berry adds his hypnotic voice to the narrative and Martiana Soto intones her poetry. Allyn Marshall Sims, as High Priest in his Druid robes, will lead us in various incantations. He has also created a gift for each participant: a parchment healing booklet of sacred symbols.
Join Michael Bayard and Emmy Award winning Native American Flutist Mary Youngblood for this interactive and breathtaking concert where you will walk through the Enchanted Forest, where your senses will be seduced, and where your soul will be captured in celebration by the beauty.
Unity's "Sound Healing Concert Series" focuses not on what we may have lost, but what has been found to magnify and enlighten our senses. This one has the touch of the masterful.
