With school starting there are so many emotions that begin to sneak in with a grieving parent. My baby should be starting school, but here we are standing alone with the what ifs? The emotional roller coaster of grief begins which can lead into terrible sadness. There is so much excitement of picking out book bags, buying fall clothes and meeting new faces and then there’s the grieving parent struggling. Why did my baby have to die? So many broken dreams and this is a time where many of us need the support of others and quite honestly could sure use a phone call just to say, I am thinking of you and I’m sorry. Being able to talk openly about what we are feeling is healing and cathartic and helps with the ups and downs of grief. So if you know a grieving parent why not reach out with a phone call, email or a cup of coffee, you just might be surprised of how much you can help.
