The Timbuktu Java Bar & Gallery, at 18205 Hwy. 525 in Freeland is hosting Sue Averett’s new photographic exhibit, Emanations of Love. Forty-two photos adorn the walls depicting Sue’s artistic sense of communicating the many expressions of love.
Sue says, “I awoke one morning a few months ago with a startling mandate from the dream world: Make a list of all the people you know who are the embodiment of light and joy; people who glow, people who inspire.”
Following through on her dream, Sue contacted her friends who seemed to radiate high levels of love and joy that inspired other people and offered to take their picture.
She adds, “The idea was not to create super-posed perfect portraits, but instead to capture a spontaneous moment that registered the light of spirit I saw.” Her photos have an artistic quality, beyond what one would expect in a highly experienced professional photographer. Sue prefers to “enchant” her photos with her use of color, digital embellishment, and other techniques.
The Emanations of Love exhibit is striking for its variety and color that have turned Timbuktu into an exceptional gallery.
In addition to Sue’s passion for the visual arts, she has also been involved with the healing arts for over 20 years as a Reiki energy medicine practitioner.
