Good news for Ellen DeGeneres and fans of the highly entertaining comic. Her daytime talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has been renewed for four more years according to the Hollywood Reporter on Monday.
Ellen's show is tied with "Dr. Phil" for No.1 among syndicated talk show's this year, so it is no surprise that the unique talk show will be on air through the 2016-17 season. The show's renewal is also a result of key ratings in an important 25-54 demographic among women which is up 13 percent from the previous season.
Ellen, who is very open with her sexuality and marriage to actress Portia de Rossi, entertains daily with audience participation which includes dancing to begin the show following a comedic monologue of current events.
Ken Werner, president to Warner Bros., made the announcement on Monday morning describing Ellen as "simply the best" and complimented the "compelling hour of entertainment" she provides as well as her target to the demographic of women she inspires.
Similar sentiments were made by Valari Staab, president of NBC Owned Television Stations, who said: "Ellen is the crown jewel of the NBC Owned Television Stations daytime lineup. We are proud and thrilled to extend our relationship with Ellen DeGeneres, all the great people working on her show and our friends at Warner Bros."
Ellen DeGeneres will be filming segments of her show outdoors when the show travels to Australia in April.
