The Elbo Room gets funky with ALBINO! Afrobeat Lab 4 month residency

I associate the Elbo Room with regularly occurring nights of good, funky dancing. Between their bi-monthly Soul Saturdays, Dub Nights and Afrolicious evenings, the Elbo room is the place to be in the Mission for shaking a tail feather. (Let me point out too that the Elbo Room also has plenty of relaxing, stand and bob-your-head acts as well.)

Well let’s add another regularly occurring night of funky dancing as the Bay Area’s own Afrobeat band Albino! begins a 4-month residency at the club. Each month the band with feature a different artist and some new songs as well as musical experiments.

The Labs start this Friday night, January 28th with DJ Jeremiah who is a highly sought after Bay Area DJ and event promoter. Jeremiah grew up in Liberia and has amassed quite a collection of dance tunes from all over the world. Add Jeremiah to the wall of sound that is the ten-piece, high-energy band that is Albino! and you’re going to have yourself quite a night, especially in a space as intimate as the Elbo Room.
