Two Bostons’, Andy and AdreAnne Tesene’s exclusive pet boutique is not in this business, sheerly for pleasure. No, indeed, they are not!
This caring couple wants to see that pets, pet lovers, and their community are all taken care of; happy and healthy. So, in addition to providing beneficial diet, health, play and beauty products for the furry friends that you know and love, they get involved in activities that set them apart from their competition!
Take for example the fact that they are participating in the upcoming DuPage Bark for Life event. Not only will the Tesenes and their crew be participants, but they are inviting area pet owners and their canines to join their team and walk with them.
The non-competitive walk is scheduled for June 28th at the DuPage Forest Preserve located at 3 S 580 Naperville Road in Wheaton, Illinois. It is an American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraising event which will honor canine caregivers and both pets and people alike that are afflicted with cancer.
In order to participate, the fee is $25 per dog. With that fee, you will receive a team backpack and Two Bostons Gift Certificate. Their goal is to raise $1,000 for Bark for Life just from their team alone. That is why they are offering the great incentives! If you are unable to participate in the walk itself, you can still donate online at www.relayforlife.org or by stopping into either of their great locations:
1. 103 West Jefferson Street in Downtown Naperville, Illinois
2. 2523 West 75th Street at the Springbrook Mall in Naperville
Individuals wanting to raise funds on their own but still have the advantage of walking with the Two Bostons’ team are welcome to do so. You can sign up to walk by logging onto www.relayforlife.org/barkdupageIL.
The top 12 fundraisers will be featured in the 2015 ACS Calendar which will be available for purchase next year. The calendars will be sold to make additional funds to support this worthwhile cause!
AdreAnne had this to say: “Canine companions demonstrate unconditional love and compassion toward all cancer survivors, regardless of circumstance. Two Bostons is passionate about safeguarding pet wellness. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, dogs themselves contract the same types of cancers as humans; and they contract the disease at roughly the same rate. In fact, currently, one in four dogs will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. The Veterinary Cancer Center estimates that cancer accounts for nearly 50% of all disease-related pet deaths each year. Pets and people share this battle. We walk because a cure for one equals a cure for all.”
Sign up today to ‘Bark for Life’ and let the walking for a cure begin!
