Perhaps this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering a new addition around the Duggar household is normalcy, but son Josh and his wife Anna are expecting baby number 3, according to a People report dated, Mon. Mar. 11.
Josh’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle are famously known for parenting 19 children, and have their own TLC show entitled “19 Kids and Counting.” Though Josh has a long ways to go to meet or exceed Dad and Mom’s baby record, he is off to a decent start at 25-years-old already being the father to Mackynzie 3, and 21-month-old Michael.
"It is very exciting," Josh told People.
“It's fun for Michael and Mackynzie being so close in age and this baby will be, too. We feel very blessed and happy,” he continued.
People shares that Anna, 24, had taken a pregnancy test when the family visited Asia during the “19 Kids and Counting: Duggars Do Asia” episode which will premiere on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on TLC. However, the result was negative at the time.
Anna went on to say that she thought for sure she was pregnant, so the negative disappointed her.
However, two weeks later, she got the result she was hoping for.
Appropriately, the couple and their cousin Amy planned a meal with baby carrots, baby corn, and tiny cherry tomatoes to share their exciting news with the rest of the family.
Grandpa Jim Bob is happy for his son and daughter-in-law, and has great faith in their parenting skills.
“Josh and Anna are great parents,” Jim Bob, 47 tells People.
“It is neat to see their family expanding. I remember those days when Michelle and I went from one to three because we had Josh and then we had twins. It is a great start,” he continued.
As we know the Duggar family likes to use the same letter over and over as they add to their expanding family. Jim Bob and Michelle gave their children all “J” names, and so far, Josh and Anna have been on the “M” theme.
Though the couple didn’t share if they will use an “M” name once again, they did confirm that they are pretty certain they have it narrowed down to one or two names.
They also know the gender of the baby, but are choosing not to tell us at this point.
The parents of 19 are readily gearing up to be grandparents again once again.
"Being a grandpa is really special because Josh and Anna live only eight miles away and our kids and their kids almost consider themselves brothers and sisters," Jim Bob said.
"They love playing together,” he continued.
The hit TLC show began airing in 2008, and was called “17 Kids and Counting" at the time. Since the show’s premiere, Mr. and Mrs. Duggar have added two more children to their already crowded household. Sadly in December 2011, the parents of 19 revealed that Michelle had miscarried their 20th child, which they had named 'Jubilee.'
Josh and Anna also suffered a miscarriage in 2010.
“There is always some sort of risk with pregnancy and you never really know,” said Josh.
However, 6 months in, it sounds like Anna is doing great, and it should be only 3 months until she brings another healthy Duggar into the world.
