The Drunken Fish - fish and non-fish friendly.

Three locations, consistently great

Looking for a creative way to introduce your meat and potatoes lovin' honey to the healthy benefits of sushi?  The Drunken Fish has your answer.

I do not believe in getting sushi from anywhere without a recommendation - after all, it's raw fish, for crying out loud!  And my favorite sushi spot, Tokyo Sushi, is not exactly for amateurs (unless you like other traditional Asian items).  So consider this my official recommendation.  Not only is the sushi fresh and of the highest caliber, it's also extraordinarily creative.  If you're looking for a new way to enjoy the ages old delicacy known as sashimi, take a look at the New Style Sashimi Menu, with Red Snapper Carpaccio and Yellowtail Mexicano.  (Hint:  the twist is a freshly made jalapeno pico de gallo).  There's rolls, too, like the Drunken Fish Roll, with shrimp tempura, japanese mayo and asparagus, and topped with red tuna, japanese mayo, eel sauce, masago, tempura crumbs, and sprouts.  (Another Hint:  start your non-sushi eating honey down the path of enlightenment with a roll, where all the ingredients are cooked first.)

And what can your non-sushi eating honey eat?  Try the Japanese Steak Au Jus (aka New York Strip) or the Judo Chop, a flavorful pork chop with a hint of sweet soy marinade.  They won't even remember you just ordered raw fish!

Personally, I'm a huge fan of the Happy Hour menu at the Central West End location, where from 5-7 pm, I can enjoy a couple of really tasty rolls and a Flirtini for only $15 in the uber posh upstairs lounge.  But all three locations offer a consistently yummy product, a hip crowd, good service, and a creative menu, all for a fair price.  With locations at Westport Plaza, Laclede's Landing, and the Central West End, they're all great "date night" spots, close to other activities, and a great way to start the fun.
