The Drudge Report: 'Do you miss Obama?' tweets Matt

While President Obama and his family vacation in Hawaii, political media mogul Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report, must have been wondering if "out of sight" means "out of mind." On the morning of Dec. 26, he asked, "Do you miss Obama? Is your life lost while he is away? Or are you relieved that for a few short weeks you're being left alone."

Don't Miss:

The key phrase for many in Drudge's tweet is "being left alone." For the group which claims it's not the president who is disliked but his policies, the brunt of Obama's influence may be felt no matter where he is. After all, unless the entire Obama administration goes on permanent vacation, they feel they will never be "left alone."

For instance, some take issue with the recent hate crime charges filed against a white man in the first federal "knockout" prosecution. The victim was an elderly black man targeted by a white suspect suffering from mental problems who boasted and filmed the encounter.

A statement by The Washington Times reinforces opinion that the Obama administration is out for "payback" borne of seething resentment of past racial wrongs. To this end, whether Obama is physically present in the White House means little:

"The charge marks the first time the administration has taken action on a “knockout” case after the game became an Internet and media phenomenon. It chose a case in which the person accused is white, even though most other cases reported in the news have involved black assailants,"

Over on the government Facebook page for Obamacare, it appears Obama was often, but not always, on the tip of the keyboards. Gary Henson actually brought up the Obama vacation, writing, "Obama and his family are enjoying the Christmas Holidays in luxury in Hawaii. Meanwhile you struggle to find and pay for affordable healthcare insurance. Happy Holidays."

In a comment dripping with sarcasm, Daniel Harrison suggested to Gary, "Don't knock Obama. He deserves a Christmas vacation in Hawaii. Do you realize the toll he takes on as president? Playing golf all around the world at the tax payers expense is a rough deal when you do it 2 or 3 times a month. Before he can ever go play though he has to pay someone (with your money) to schedule everything. He's proving to the American people he isn't lazy."

Anne Allen Schmidt didn't mention Obama once as she defended his hallmark healthcare reform. She wrote,"Considering BlueCross BlueShield has been raising our rates EACH and EVERY year for the last 13 years, I couldn't WAIT for another alternative before they bankrupted us. We live in South Carolina, so thanks to the HealthCare Marketplace, we were able to lower our premiums by $250/mo. for a BETTER plan. Did I have to make several phone calls to make it happen? Yes. Was it totally worth the frustration? Yes."

The first family will be vacationing in the Hawaiian Islands until January 5, 2013. For those who need an Obama fix during this low Obama news cycle, ABC News is running a daily journal of Obama's itinerary that might soothe any "missing Obama'" woes. On The Drudge Report, related Obamacare headlines are being featured as this report is typed.
