David West Read's "The Dream of the Burning Boy" is opening tonight at the Alliance Repertory. Davis Christopher is directing.
The play: "Since the death of a popular student, both teachers, family and friends alike struggle to process their emotions. Soon a shocking secret is revealed that will change their lives forever."
The show opens Friday February 8th and runs until the 23rd. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. with one matinee on Sunday February 17 at 2 p.m.
Also, a special performance is set for Thursday at 8 p.m. on February 21st.
The show will be held at Edison Valley Playhouse, 2196 Oak Tree Road in Edison, New Jersey..

In case you are not familiar with the The Alliance Repertory Theatre Company it was founded in 1999 by Jerry Marino and Jeff Streger. It is a non-profit 501c3company dedicated to producing distinctive, challenging and thought-provoking theater, and to providing local actors, directors and writers the opportunity to display and expand their talents.
While working as a community theater from ’99 to ’02, the company was nominated for 13 Perry Awards for acting, directing and production value. The Princeton Packet placed three of their shows, “American Buffalo,” “Gross Indecency,” and “Laundry Bourbon and Lonestar” in the top 12 productions for all of New Jersey for 1999, 2001,and 2003 respectively.
November 2002, they were granted associate membership in the New Jersey
Theatre Alliance, the consortium of New Jersey professional theaters. As a professional company, they have received recognition for such productions as “Oleanna”, “Spinning Into Butter”, “Lobby Hero” and “Blackbird.”
In 2012, they received a NJ Tony Award for Best Comedy for “Something In the Air.”
