Three days before Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a close, personal friend of mine had two dreams in one night. Both of these dreams contained near-exact details of what was to come on 9/11.
Despite popular misperceptions as an astrologer, my group of friends isn’t predominantly airy-fairy, happy-hippy, spiritually-minded, new ager, wierdo, earth muffins that share my esoteric interests. Especially as a resident astrologer in Klamath Falls!
My current social and personal circle consists of several successful business owners, a bank manager, a Jeld-Wen manager, OIT professor, a few teachers, and a minister/co-minister team, to name a few. Yes, there’s a couple of token bohemian-types, and the co-minister is a hypnotherapist, and by her own description, “about as airy-fairy as you can get around here,” but, still, this is Klamath Country!
Granted, as an Aquarian, my social group at any given time is apt to be a bit eclectic, mixed, or varied. Yes, the universal love agent truly does love everyone virtually equally.
The point, naturally, is that this account is true, credible, verifiable, and extraordinary, especially for my otherwise non-earth muffin friend, Daphne.
The only occult caveat in this story is that my friend is a Pisces Sun sign, who astrology says should always pay attention to their dreams, and she happens to have Aquarius Rising – the intuitive one, who astrology says we should always listen to. So, she’s been prone more than once to have prophetic dreams over the course of our twenty-year friendship.
Several years ago, she had a dream that she and her husband would get pulled over for drinking and driving, so one of them volunteered to be the designated driver that year at the annual company Christmas party. She also had a dream that I got pregnant. After that last one, she was put on notice that any dreams with me in them were to be immediately reported!
It was just a dream
For the two or three days following, my friend thought very little of her two disturbing and vivid dreams. Until Tuesday morning.
Yes, I know exactly where I was on 9/11. Same with the assassinations of Libran, Lennon, Gemini, JFK, Libra, Ghandi, the deaths of Virgo, Mother Teresa, and Cancer Sun sign, Princess Diana, and the attempted assassination on Aquarian, Reagan.
On the one hand, these were memorable moments in history; on the other hand, like America’s Mayor said the other day, “There’s nothing special about the 10th anniversary of 9/11.” As far as Gemini, Guiliani’s concerned, we must always be prepared.
Princess Diana sums it up best: "The worst illness of our time is that so many people have to suffer from not ever being loved."
The phone rang by my bed around 7 a.m.; it was my Leo friend, John, an old high school pal and current beau, calling me from the pay phone at the plant where he was working.
“Turn on the news. Something’s happened. Something bad.” He said.
I became the pipeline that morning for the crew working inside an industrial cave, the ancient John's Manville plant to old-timers, the Jeld-Wen plant to newbies, where nothing from the outside world gets in until you clock out.
All day long as my friend Daphne worked in her office, the memory of her dreams a few nights before preyed on her mind off and on. One moment she could shake the feelings off; the next moment she felt haunted. She didn't say anything to anyone all day about her dreams.
Ice Queen of Chiloquin
My friend was new to the small, struggling, racist-plagued ranching community of Chiloquin, formerly known as ‘Little Chicago,’ describing its historical legacy of big-city crime. She was also new to her position as a manager and both transitions were quite bumpy. She lacked confidence and didn’t fit in for a long time. Her co-workers called her the 'Ice Queen' and she had no friends here except her live-in boyfriend and yours truly.
Daphne is one of those women who’s very physically attractive, especially to men, and women don’t receive her well. Mostly, she’s just a bit shy at first and this gets misperceived as aloof, stand-off-ish, distant or uncaring. She’s delightful, adorable and a hoot once you get to know her.
It’s not unusual
So, after work on that Tuesday afternoon, Daphne stopped in at the local store, Clyde’s, to pick up some items before heading home to her two kids. We were pregnant at the same time with our daughters.
As she opened the store door, there was a person coming toward her exiting the store. Not unusual circumstances for two apparent strangers.
Daphne looked up …ordinarily, she kept her eyes to the ground, just out of habit, but, thereby, avoiding contact…..she met the eyes of this person coming through the door at the same time as she….something huge moved inside of her heart…something huge moved away from it….she saw this person in front of her and realized he was just like her…he had a life, he had feelings, things he cared about….the insight was enormous. She held the door for this person, in her words, “for probably the first time in my entire life.” He stepped through the doorway, thanked her without seeming to notice her tears, and went on his way. She, now openly crying, unashamed, stepped into the store and on her way, changed forever by that simple encounter and the dreams of 9/11.
As often happens to astrologers, people with Pisces Rising and/or unshockable Aquarian energies, my friend Daphne called me later that evening on Tuesday, September, 11th, 2001, and said, “Kim, I’ve got to tell you something bizarre….”
Our talk that night about her dream helped us both process the wildly horrific events of the day. She worried that there was something she was supposed to have done because she had the dream; yet, she felt oddly freer than she’d ever felt before because of her encounter with the "stranger" at Clyde’s.
Psychism is a funny dynamic. Sometimes, it’s like hearing conversations and/or activities in another room in the same house; you get bits and pieces – sometimes huge chunks – of data that can create all sorts of confusing responses. It’s really just an energy thing.
The Owie on T.V.
My then twenty-three month old daughter, watched the news with me on and off that day, and I referred to the events we witnessed, prayed and cried about as, “the owie on T.V.” To my daughter, 9/11 will always be ‘the owie on T.V.’
