The Bay Area’s The Dream Institute of Northern California proudly presents the film, The Cuckoo (Kukushka, 2002) as part of their popular Bridging Ancient & Modern Film Series. The Russian film brings together a Finnish sniper, a Russian soldier, and a Nordic woman named Anni at the close of WWII. She provides them with food and shelter and displays healing powers handed down from her ancestors. A story of survival, this independent film focuses on bridging the gap between the ancient and modern worlds.
This series is hosted by psychologist, Tom Knoblauch who has carefully selected this film and will lead a discussion afterward.
