The Doors future certain and uncertain

Here’s an item that goes totally under the heading of the uncertain, speculation, wishful thinking and maybe. The Indian Express newspaper is reporting that the Manzarek-Krieger Band will be playing the first Fly Music Festival in Noida, India on February 16-17. It just can’t be confirmed on the Manzarek-Krieger Facebook or Ray and Robby’s website. The website, Book My Show, that is supposed to be selling tickets for the event doesn‘t have a listing for the festival. The thing is, looking at the announced touring schedules of Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and the Manzarek-Rogers Band (see related articles below), there is a hole in their schedules that could include a quick trip to India for Manzarek-Krieger. Other announced bands for the event include Limp Bizkit and The Wailers and looking at their touring schedules, show no events in India, although The Wailers schedule for February has a week long hole at the time of the festival.

In Doors news, a little more certain, Jac Holzman has always been on the cutting edge of innovation and technology especially when it comes to The Doors. In the February 2013 issue of MOJO Magazine Holzman discusses the new Doors iPad app, and the magazine reviews or previews it. In a short interview with Holzman MOJO writer Ross Bennett gets some details of what the new app will include. It’s not just some app that will download songs for you or take you to Doors websites but is a full multi-media experience that has twelve sections such as articles on The Doors by Patti Smith and Hunter S. Thompson, a section devoted to the 1968 European tour, a graphic novel rendering of the ‘Miami Incident’ as well as audio from Miami. The app also includes photos, memorabilia, tickets, 44 short videos adding up to 1400 items! Read the Jac Holzman MOJO interview.
