The latest, 'no junk all food' Burger Lounge to hit town is on Sunset Boulevard, near Sunset Plaza, in West Hollywood. There are seven in the San Diego area and three more slated to open soon in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Brentwood. The one on Sunset is less than a year old and quite the rage.
Not only are the beef burgers big, juicy and from 100 percent single source grass-fed beef served on a gluten-free or whole wheat bun, or for waist-watchers, a lettuce wrap, the turkey burgers, fresh vegetable or organic quinoa salads served solo or with chicken breast, turkey, beef or salmon, and salmon burgers (which I had on a gluten-free bun) are exceptional.
There’s indoor and outdoor seating, nothing fancy, but not at all funky either. It is right on Sunset Blvd. so you do get some street noise, but who hears it when diving into this yummy food. While we didn’t sample them, we did notice lots of folks enjoying the shakes, floats and ice cream sundaes.
Prices are really reasonable with a lounge burger going for $7.95, salads for $7.95 and $8.95 (a little more if you add animal protein), great looking onion rings for $3.99, fries for the same price, too, shakes for $4.95, and sundaes at $3.95.
The Burger Lounge is located at 8539 West Sunset Blvd., 310-289-9250, for more info go to www.burgerlounge.com or call 888-391-7858. They will also cater a party at www.burgerlounge.com/catering.
