The Districts Take StL by Storm

See also

Hailing from Lititz, PA, The Districts are a promising young group of musicians whom are slowly taking the music scene by storm. Their self-titled EP, released in January, is part bluesy-folk and part indie rock mixed with layer after layer of "more please." I have not been this excited about an EP in quite some time, this foursome is the real deal.

We were very lucky enough to catch Rob Grote (Guitar, Vocals) Mark Larson (Guitar) Connor Jacobus (Bass)
Braden Lawrence (Percussion) opening for White Denim at the Firebird in St Louis before their hectic week in Austin for SXSW. Most bands would simply be coasting or preserving some energy before such a large showcase week but these guys left nothing to be desired. The live show was a 45 minute lightning bolt of brilliance leaving a standing room only crowd, many of whom were hearing the band for the first time, panting for more.

If you missed them this time around you're forgiven and in luck as they will be heading back this way in March. Gigs on March 29th at Off Broadway (St Louis) and March 30th at Schuba's (Chicago).

Here's a small taste of The Districts performing "Funeral Beds" for the Hot Box Sessions and a link to purchase their new EP HERE.
