Playing live anywhere and everywhere, releasing 2 EPs and now a preview of their soon to be released record Slowburner, are what make The District Attorneys (DA’s) the hardest working band in Georgia.
The Athens/Atlanta band who mix psychedelic fuzzy rock with a little southern twang have built quite a following since their inception. Their secret is to not only play live shows every single night, or at least it seems they play somewhere every night, but to make those shows one damn fine night of music. They are now rewarding their loyal masses with a preview of their upcoming album Slowburner by releasing the first single “Confusion Of Trust” (COT). They are giving you a taste for free to get you hooked, knowing you will pay for more in April.
“COT” is a sharp song that evokes pop rock tunes from the 50’s and 60’s dealing with the age old subject of love. Layered guitars and foot taping rhythms are the backdrop for the vocal harmonies that drive this tune. You can check it out for yourself here on Soundcloud. Be warned, it is catchy and will get lodged in your brain for quite some time. The new record is being released by This Is American Music and hits stores on April 24th.
In addition to unleashing the new track, they will be playing a show tomorrow night at the Masquerade. Sharing the stage with The Apache Relay and Moon Taxi, the DA’s will kick things off so make sure you are there early. In addition to “COT” get ready to jam to songs from their two EP’s as well as some more new tunes, and if you are lucky you will be treated to their killer version of “Wrecking Ball”. Doors open at 8pm, so plenty of time to grab some dinner before the DA’s rock your faces off.
