The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is an authentic seven piece brass band of pure New Orleans sound. They bring their high energy and amazing sound to The Hamilton in the Nation’s Capital on Sunday, March 3, 2013. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band has toured across the world. Tours have brought them over five continents and over 30 countries. They have also made stops at major festivals as well. The group has played the Western Maryland Blues Festival in nearby Hagerstown, they have played Jazz Fest in their hometown, and the Newport Jazz Festival just to name a few of the festivals they have played along the way.
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band have shared the stage or recorded with a Who’s Who’s list of musicians including Ana Popovic, Elvis Costello, The Black Crowes, David Bowie, and Dr. John to list a few. The funky horn section has been together for 35 years and recorded 15 albums. They have been categorized as blues, jazz, R&B, funk, soul and jam band.
