The differences between secular and biblical paleontology

A secular paleontologist strictly applies the evolutionary presupposition to the study of paleontology while a biblical paleontologist strictly applies biblical presuppositions to the study of paleontology the word "presupposition" means "something supposed or assumed beforehand".

This is why secular and creationist interpretations of dinosaur fossils are so different. Secular paleontologists operate on these presuppositions : There is no God, or God is irrelevant. Everything came from nothing (many believe in the Big Bang Theory). Believe in the general theory of organic evolution (a theory that all living things came by a materialistic evolutionary process from a single source which itself arose by a similar process from a dead, inanimate world). this theory is also called molecule-to-man theory of evolution. All lifeforms evolved from common ancestors over billions of years. Homology (the fact of similarities in lifeforms) is sufficient proof for evolution of all extinct and living lifeforms. Believe in uniformitarianism theory (formulated by Charles Lyell) interprets earth history as existing physical processes, acting essentially at present rates, are sufficient to account for all geological formations, "the present is the key to the past". Promote Geological Column and Geologic time.

On the other hand, biblical paleontologists operate under an entirely different set of presuppositions : In the beginning God created everything (John 1:3)(Colossians 1:16). All biological life He created was according to kinds (Genesis 1:11,12,21,24,25,). The Bible is God's true Word to mankind. God created in six literal days (Exodus 20:11)(Genesis 1:1-31), only about 6,000 years ago. Dinosaur and other fossils are in sedimentary layers of the earth as result of a cataclysmic worldwide flood that destroyed all land animals and humans, except for those on Noah's Ark some 4,500 years ago. Lifeforms were given by God to develop genetic variability within a kind very rapidly. A good example of this is a variability developed within the dog kind that has been witnessed and historically documented by mankind.

Secular (evolutionary) paleontologists ostracize biblical paleontologists because of their belief in creation. Creationists are not welcome in the "sacred halls" or fossil storerooms of secular universities and natural history museums where the vast majority of recovered dinosaur fossils are to be found. Thank God that there is creation museums for creationists to do their work in the paleontology field.
