Inside|Out is a program launched 4 years ago to try and connect with those people in the metro area who are not familiar with the Detroit Institute of Arts. High quality reproductions of famous masterpieces from within the DIA’s walls are scattered throughout Detroit and various local communities including Berkley, Sterling Heights, Hamtramck, Warren, and Ypsilanti. Inside|Out is a lot like the Detroit Symphony Orchesta’s new policy of playing in venues around the Metro area, these programs are perfect for exposing people to the many great things in and around Detroit, things thousands of citizens of Detroit and neighboring cities do not typically experience. Visit the Detroit Institute of Art's website for more information about the program and the artworks showcased, including works by Renoir and others.
If you’re looking for a great summer spot to take part in this wonderful installation, Belle Isle is free to the public and there are 8 DIA reproductions on the island. All works can be viewed until September 23rd.
