Yesterday (August 13) metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada premiered their new song, "R.I.T." on Full Metal Jackie radio. "R.I.T." is on the bands upcoming fourth studio album, Dead Throne which is set to be released September 13, 2011 via Ferret Music. The Devil Wears Prada new song "R.I.T." is the second to be released from, Dead Throne, with the first being "Born to Lose". Fans can also listen to the song by tuning into one of Full Metal Jackie's stations tonight or stream it on one of her online stations.
During my exclusive interview with lead vocalist Mike Hranica he talked about how "R.I.T." is lyrically one of his favorite songs from Dead Throne. Hranica said, "Before my problem lyrically was a lot of it would always become really scrambled, and each song didn't have enough of an identity, or a specific subject matter to it. That was something I really focused on for this record. If I were to name two songs I think express that really well I would have to say "R.I.T." and a song called "Untidaled." Both of those songs as I was working on them were songs I really had on the forefront of my mind. Something I really wanted to focus on was [the lyrics] being able to stand very strongly on their own outside of the song."
He went on to say, "I remember working on them, and putting them in a text edit file on my computer and letting it sit there on its own and read it being excited and proud for being able to do that without the song being involved at all. I probably feel "R.I.T." and "Untidaled" if I had to pick." You can read the entire interview by clicking here.
