The Des Moines Metro Opera's Wine and Food Showcase is February 21

The Des Moines Metro Opera will be holding their annual Wine and Food Showcase fundraising event to help fund the organization’s nationally recognized productions and award-winning education and outreach programs on February 21. The 2014 Wine and Food Showcase will take place in the Des Moines Marriott from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will showcase expert and up-and-coming chefs, restaurateurs, vintners, caterers, brewers and distributors. Tickets for the event are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. VIP tickets, which include a special 4:30 p.m. flight party, are $100. Tickets may be purchased through the DMMO's website by clicking here.

The VIP Lounge will feature exclusive tastings from Baru 66, Whole Foods Market Specialty Department, and the Des Moines Marriott, as well as some exclusive wines. The VIP Lounge will also feature live music from Metropolitan Opera performer John Moore.

The evening will also include the "A Night at the Opera" Raffle. The raffle is $10 per ticket and holds a grand prize of a one night stay at the Downtown Des Moines Marriott with breakfast for two, a $100 gift certificate to Splash Seafood Bar & Grill, and two tickets to DMMO's 2nd Stage Series performance of The Tragedy of Carmen at the Des Moines Social Club on either July 10 or 19.

Following Wine and Food Showcase will be Club Opera, the company’s dance and opera-themed after party, at nearby Big City Burgers and Greens starting at 8:30pm. The party will feature music from DJ John Solarz and will include special performances from Des Moines Metro Opera singers singing techno-inspired opera classics. Admission to Club Opera is free for those attending the Wine and Food Showcase. Tickets to just Club Opera are $10.
