It was all about the southern hospitality and philanthropy at last night’s 4th annual Unbridled Eve Derby Prelude Party, a Hollywood kickoff to the Kentucky Derby. The invitation only cocktail party took place at The London West Hollywood on the rooftop pool deck.
The Prelude Party benefited Blessings in a Backpack for the third year in a row. Blessings in a Backpack is a unique non-profit program that is designed to feed elementary school children whose families qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal program, and have little to no food on the weekends. The program is a hybrid of private sector funding and public partnership carried out in public schools, feeding the future of America, one school at a time.
Presented by Derby hostesses Tonya York Dees and Tammy York Days, this red carpet event was packed with celebrities. Celebrities included: Colin Egglesfield, Gene Simmons & Shannon Tweed, Kate Flannery, Jason London, Cris Judd, Anthony Anderson, Quinton Aaron, Keith Robinson, Omar Benson Miller, Hank Baskett, Aldis Hodge, Edwin Hodge, Natalie Cole, Glynn Turman, D.B. Sweeney, Warren Moon, Bob Guiney, Jenni Pulos, Florence Henderson, Soulja Boy and more.
With signature Mint Julep cocktails and Derby Pie from Kern's Kitchen, this event was packed Kentucky Derby tradition to kick off the excitement of the this year's upcoming Derby events. The event also featured a silent auction with tickets to the upcoming Kentucky Derby up for grabs, among other awesome auction items.
