A wonderful press release is coming from the American Institutes for Research this week. They are announcing the latest results from their monitoring of the world of Higher Education. Please read the information below.
American Institutes for Research (AIR), a contributor to the Delta Cost Project since its inception, is pleased to assume responsibility for the project's analytic work. The Delta Cost Project is a nationally recognized effort that monitors and identifies revenue and spending trends in higher education. Led by Rita Kirshstein, Ph.D., the AIR team of economists, education finance experts, and researchers, will contribute to the national conversation on higher education productivity by maintaining and expanding the trend analyses on postsecondary expenditures and revenues, fine-tuning metrics, and examining patterns in expanded groups of institutions.
AIR will continue to update and maintain the interactive Web-based data system, Trends in College Spending, which allows the public to search for information on institutional revenues and spending, performance, and enrollment.
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) will maintain the Delta Cost Project's database as part of its Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). IPEDS conducts annual surveys gathering information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in the federal student financial aid programs. For more information about the Delta Cost Project at AIR, contact Rita Kirshstein at rkirshstein@air.org.
"AIR staff have the knowledge and experience to refine and expand the metrics and ensure that they inform institutional decision making and public policy."
-Jane Wellman, former executive director and current advisor, Delta Cost Project
