Sarah from
Midnight Syndicate alerted us that post-production wrapped up last month with director/composer Edward Douglas and sound editor Patrick Giraudi finalizing the mix and colorist Jim Garrow dialing in the finishing touches.
"I am absolutely thrilled with how the movie came out," said Douglas. "I think it's exactly what fans would expect from a
Midnight Syndicate movie: Classic horror themes... very atmospheric, very creepy... and loaded with twists and turns that really pull you into the dark world we try to create on all the Syndicate discs. It's definately a fun ride for fans who enjoy a good story and an old-school edge to their horror films."
An official date has not been set yet, but a 2009 release is expected.
Midnight Syndicate's next CD will be the soundtrack to
The Dead Matter. With a debut planned to coordinate with the release of the movie, the disc is expected to contain highlights from the score to the film as well as other music featured in the film. Some of the bands whose music appear in the ovie include
Midnight Syndicate CD release party favorites Lazy Lane (lead singer Lily Lane collaborate with the band on The 13th Hour disc), Denny Carleton (collaborator from the self-titled Midnight Syndicate disc), Cleveland-based Quanta, UV, Gavin Goska's Parlormuse, and hiPNOSTIC. The band also plans to include some remixes from other artists.

Hot Topic and
Midnight Syndicate Films combined to run "The Dead Matter Flyaway Contest," with prizes including a trip to the premiere with hotel and limo service as well as a meet and greet with
Midnight Syndicate and the cast. Other prizes include limited-edition props signed by the cast. Winners will be picked and notified once the official release date for the movie is announced.
