Will Daryl Dixon hook up with someone on the show who is not Carol?
For the past 3 Seasons on AMC’s The Walking Dead, viewers have been waiting for the moment when bad boy Daryl Dixon and maternal Carol will share their first kiss. Although their affection for one another has only been implied, not physically demonstrated on the show, viewers keep hoping that these two favorite characters will finally get together in Season 4.
But recently, a photo still pulled from a brief, 5 second scene out of AMC’s official trailer release has fans wondering if there could be a new romance brewing among the residents of the prison.
Could Daryl and the teenage Beth, daughter of patriarch Herschel Greene, be sharing a romantic moment in the Season 4 trailer?
The Walking Dead Season 4 Trailer was officially released at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The four minute 26-second eagerly anticipated trailer was embraced and analyzed by legions of Walking Dead devotees, with everyone looking for clues about next season’s storyline. In due time, people began to freeze, save, and share individual stills from the trailer. Norman Reedus fans, excited to view all of his newest scenes, zeroed in on the fleeting image of Daryl and Beth together.
In social media postings and forums, fans have been arguing the pros and cons of such a relationship. Some of the strongest arguments against a Beth and Daryl romance focus on how old Beth is; her chronological age on the show is 16 or 17 years old. Dating underage girls is still frowned upon, even in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Other people still hope that Daryl and Carol will get finally get together as a couple.
Take a look at the picture attached to this article– what do you think? Do you see a blossoming romance, or could this be as simple as Beth having a crush on Daryl? Perhaps she is comforting him after a tragedy? Robert Kirkman and his Walking Dead minions have been promising more deaths and more sorrows on the show this season – could Daryl be mourning the loss of someone who was important to him? Uh-oh. Better not be Carol! Comment below with your thoughts and ideas.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 13, 2013.
