Based on a Image Comics series, The Darkness II follows Jackie Estacado after he becomes head of a major crime family. He's suppressed the Darkness powers from the first game but an attack on him and his men forces him to bring the powers back to confront a new threat.
The Darkness II features "quad-wielding" that allows players to shoot two weapons while also using two demon-like arms from The Darkness to extend out and slash, grab and throw objects at enemies. It also support four-player campaign co-op.
