If you haven’t been to the Darkmoon Faire recently, now is the perfect time to visit. It’s not the same old faire your older World of Warcraft characters might have grown up with. With some of the latest patches, the Darkmoon Faire has been refurbished with new chills and thrills for the citizens of Azeroth
The first of many changes is location. The Faire has been given its own ‘zone’. For a few silver you can ask a Mystic Mage in the capital city of your choosing to transport you to the faire staging area where you are welcomed by Darkmoon Faire greeters juggling flaming torches before the grand Darkmoon Portal. Hover your pointer over the portal and you will see a gear. With a simple click you have magically entered the Faire world.
Crickets chirp and owls hoot in the distance as you are faced with the choice of a free ride down the path. Follow the flashing pointers onward to see the many sights that await you. As you enter the Faire, check out the information guide to your left and the token salesperson to your right. You’ll need game tokens to play the many mini games available to you at the Faire. Playing the mini games will give you achievements and tickets to be traded in for many purchasable items.
One of the newest attractions you will not want to miss is the Carousel. Purchase a ride ticket booklet from Kae Ti, the NPC standing at the carousel entrance and click it to open your Darkmoon Ride Tickets. One ride ticket will be consumed as you jump aboard the carousel. Around and around you’ll go as the WHEE buff is added to your buff bar. This buff will give you a ten percent gain to experience and reputation for one hour. Be sure to return to the Faire every hour with your characters who can use this buff for leveling or who are working on reputation gains. If you are killed along your journey you'll have to return to the Faire and ride the carousel again as the WHEE buff does not persist through death.
There is plenty to see and do at the Faire. Be sure to check out the achievements available at the games, do the quests available to level your skills and most of all, enjoy the entertainment, the food and the atmosphere.
