After an hour of foreboding terror the Ghost of
Christmas Past, with a light shining from the crown
of its head, leads Scrooge on a journey into the past,
where events shaped his life and character
If it seems as if you've entered a land of ghouls and goblins, and your life and the people in it have turned dark and ugly. Or if it seems that the pain of your past has come back to haunt you, it's likely, you're having a Pluto crisis (transit) and have, like Scrooge, entered your own dark night of the soul.
This is seldom a journey anyone would choose to take...but this trip into your darker nature can't be avoided. It often begins when you are confronted or challenged by some powerful force...a force that is, in reality, a reflection of your own darker self.
This encounter with your darker nature is meant to reveal to you the reality of the way you are living your life and the pain you are bringing not only to yourself, but to others.
In "A Christmas Carol" Scrooge is visited by three spirits, the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future...during his journey through that dark night, as the ghosts shines a light on events of the past, present and potential future, Scrooge realizes how the pain of his childhood miss-shaped the loving child he once was, into the dark and ugly man he has become, in seeing his pain, the pain he is now causing others and what the future holds, Ebenezer Scrooge is reborn on Christmas morning a new man.
Pluto~The Most powerful God of Change
When we are touched by a stressful (see note) Pluto transit we are forced to look at and question how we are living our lives and why we behave the way we do. Hidden psychological baggage comes to the surface allowing us to review our conditioned psychological and emotional responses.
Issues of control, manipulation, jealousy, possessiveness, dominance and power are frequent.
Pluto transits are often also accompanied by an obsession with power and an almost insane desire to possess a thing, a person, or a position, and in the obsessive drive to have what we want, the feelings of others are not taken into account. And this is most often when you begin to see what darkness you are really capable of.
Unlike Scrooge, whose journey to re-birth took only one night, Pluto moves slowly. It is the slowest moving planet in the solar system, so its transits to the planets or points in your birth chart can take two years and more to pass completely. Yes, things get reborn wherever Pluto goes, but like the actual birth experience, it is painful and extremely messy. Pluto process is usually hidden at first, working like a volcano with pressure building up for years until it finally explodes!
Resurrection and Redemption
At dawn after surviving his dark night of the soul, Scrooge changes his life and reverts to the generous, kindhearted soul he was in his youth. He anonymously sends the Cratchits the biggest turkey in the butcher shop, meets the charity workers to pledge an unspecified but impressive amount of money, and spends Christmas Day with Fred and his wife.
Hidden with-in every individual's ofen painful encounter with Pluto are the gifts of resurrection and redemption.
Caution: One the negative side, Pluto rules the “underworld” and illegal activities. Beware of temptation to go this route when Pluto is active in your chart!!!
